Lonely.

A longing for salvation and redemption, in fear of the end of contact.

“I’m afraid that now my life will just go on like this, without any contact to you. If I grow old or have an accident, I will never have had the chance to be reconciled with you.”

Note: I have made the following music selection for myself. It may therefore appear to you (the reader) to be unsuitable for this structure, as it is based on personal criteria.

Can you redeem me?

“I see things differently than you, but I miss you.”

One looks for mistakes in oneself that have led to the fact that one has come apart. Brief moments of realisation feel as if you have lost your soul mate. You convince yourself that you could be the one person who is redeemed by the other.

“When you come back, can you promise not to go away again?”

Dua Lipa – Be The One
Cashman, Pistilli & West – A Song That Never Comes
Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina – Stereo Love
Stay – Belly
Social Station – So Much
Martha’s Harbour – All About Eve

I was left with an 8.

A meaning is attributed to the numbers. The 6 as a diabolical number. The 7 as a heavenly number. And 8 as a number of infinity. One seeks meanings in the legacies and digs in esotericism and numbers (which in itself is nonsense). Interpreting and assigning them helps you to cope with the fact that you feel as if you have been prescribed. One rebels and shows the beloved subject in a passive-aggressive way that one feels prescribed by her.

Talk Talk – Such A Shame

You’re you

“You are capable of cruelty. Is it really you? I want to show you how you seem to me. We lost touch because I was looking for you. This can’t be wrong”

One does not want to rebel against the judgment of the beloved subject, but one shows oneself admonishing and explaining in order to give a disclosure that should enable the beloved subject to assess the situation.

Raised By Swans – Capable Of Cruelty
Thom Yorke – Ingenue
Grimes – Life in the Vivid Dream

I can’t find anyone to replace you

One compares other people with the beloved subject, but despairs at not finding anyone. You also create a “shield” to protect yourself from others who might touch you in the same way to maintain fidelity to the beloved subject.

Diamanda Galas – Down So Low

You’re like the month of April

“You are like the month of April. It was my fault for not knowing. Why didn’t I wear clothes appropriate to the month (umbrella) But the month also has moments when the sun comes out, so I packed away my rain gear too soon.”

P.J. Harvey & John Parish – April

I believe in change

“Change is a powerful force. We have been dead and born. Change has brought us to life. Perhaps in this lifetime, change can give us a way to understand ourselves without invalidating the past.”

Lana Del Rey – Change
Chromatics – Lady
